Rudeina Baasiri, Ph.D.
CEO, Intellectia Advisors LLC | Founder, Intellectia Science Salon
Dr. Rudeina Baasiri is the founder and CEO of Intellectia Advisors LLC, a forward-thinking consultancy dedicated to bridging the gap between emerging technologies and society through education, and policy engagement. Under her leadership, Intellectia Advisors fosters meaningful discussions and collaborations around cutting-edge technologies, empowering individuals, organizations, and policymakers to navigate innovation responsibly.
Rudeina’s visionary approach is epitomized in Intellectia Salon (formerly Dinner & Dialogue), an exclusive intellectual salon she established in 2013. The Salon creates a unique platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, blending thought leadership with fine dining to foster meaningful discussions about technology and its implications for society. These curated gatherings bring together corporate executives, experts, policymakers, academics, and community leaders to explore topics such as artificial intelligence, gene editing, neuroscience, geo-engineering, brain capital, etc., ensuring a well-informed public voice in shaping science policy.
Rudeina is uniquely positioned at the intersection of science, law, and policy. A former patent advisor with nearly two decades of experience at leading law firms, including Howery LLP, Winston & Strawn LLP, and Norton Rose Fulbright, Rudeina transitioned to entrepreneurship in 2024. She applies her expertise in intellectual property, patent prosecution, biotechnology, science diplomacy and global affairs to guide Intellectia Advisors’ efforts in consulting, education, and public policy advocacy.
Dr. Baasiri’s academic achievements include a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Texas A&M University and an M.A. in Global Affairs from Rice University, where she also managed Rice University’s intellectual property, and technology commercialization. She also conducted research and participated in panels for the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy relating to the history and geopolitical dynamics of the Middle East.
Rudeina’s academic journey began with a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Agricultural Sciences, Mycology and Plant Pathology from the American University of Beirut, inspiring her deep-rooted interest in natural sciences, sustainable development and agriculture.
Fluent in English and Arabic and proficient in French and Spanish, Rudeina brings a global perspective to her work. She is a member of organizations such as the Houston Committee on Foreign Relations, Trees for Houston, American Leadership Forum and The World Affairs Council. Passionate about promoting women in STEM, she continues to advance science diplomacy and empower communities through Intellectia Advisors and its Salon.
